Hiroshi Fujioka who played Kamen Rider 1/Hongo Takeshi in the special effects drama "Kamen Rider," and his second daughter, Tensho Amane, attended the preview screening of the short film "HENSHIN THE FIRST," held at Toei's headquarters (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) on March 2nd. The father and daughter showed off their "transformation" poses into Kamen Rider, thrilling the audience.
"HENSHIN THE FIRST" was produced as part of a joint project between Kamen Rider, makeup brand "KATE," and fashion and beauty media "WWD JAPAN" aiming to create a new culture, and was released on March 2nd. Tensho plays the lead role. The film is an original story that depicts a unique interpretation of Kamen Rider Ainz/Mikazuki Nayuta, the role played by Tensho in "Kamen Rider Ainz with Girls Remix" (2026).
In the play, there is a scene where Nayuta is "modified" to look like Takeshi Hongo. Fujioka smiled and said, "It was very moving to remember that it all started here 55 years ago. It got my blood pumping."
Due to his strong attachment to Kamen Rider No. 1, Fujioka says that he rarely shows off his transformation pose at events. However, after careful consideration, when requested by the MC, he readily agreed, saying, "Today may be my daughter's historic first step, so I will transform together with her as Takeshi Hongo." The father and daughter then performed their transformation poses together.
At the press conference after the presentation, Tensho said with a smile, "It was the first time in my life that a parent and child transformed together, so I felt very happy, and it also made me determined to carry on the legacy of Kamen Rider Ainz from now on. It was a truly unforgettable moment." However, he revealed his regret by saying, "The timing was a little off, and I wish it hadn't been off... I'm frustrated about that and want to do it again (laughs)." Fujioka also replied with a wry smile, "We were late in saying 'transform'. There was a bit of a silence." They then performed the transformation pose again, which was met with thunderous applause from the audience.
In the Fujioka family, the eldest son, Maito, also plays the same role as his father, Kamen Rider No. 1/Hongo Takeshi, in the movie "Kamen Rider Beyond Generations" (2021). Hiroshi said with a smile, "Maybe Maito wanted to transform with us too," and Tensho expressed his hopes, saying, "My older brother is probably excited right now. I hope that one day all three of us can transform together."
