It has been announced that Shosetsuka ni Naro, Mami Koyama will play Veronica, and Minami Takayama will play Florencia in the new TV anime adaptation of Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter, based on the popular light novel Ascendance of a Bookworm: I'll Do Anything to Become a Minami Takayama, which is available on the novel submission site "Let's Become a Novelist." Also appearing are Nao Toyama as Angelica, Asami Seto as Brigitte, and Katsumi Fukuhara as Zack. A stellar cast of voice actors has been announced as additional cast members.
Tamura commented, "Georgine looks evil at first glance...I think there is a reason why she ended up the way she is, so even if the details aren't depicted in the anime, I hope I can help her live as a human being, not just as a bad person."
Koyama says, "Veronica, the wife of the previous lord, is self-centered and will use any means to achieve her goals. She values power and self-interest, and puts herself first! And this has been passed down to her children... How far will Rosemyne be able to break through this extremely oppressive world?! I'm looking forward to it."
Takayama said, "When I received the offer, I was surprised and asked, 'Are you sure you want me for the role?' It's been a long time since I've played the role of a noble lady. I will try to play the role with a smile, being kind, strict, and having fun."
The series is a light novel written by Kazuki and illustrated by Shiina Yu. It follows Urano Motosu, a girl living in modern Japan, who dies on the day she secures her dream job at a library. She regains consciousness as Myne, a young girl in another world ruled by nobles with magical powers, and struggles to obtain a book. The series has sold over 13 million copies in total. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2019, the second from April to June 2020, and the third from April to June 2022.
In "Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter," Myne chooses to live as the lord's adopted daughter, Rozemyne, in order to protect her family and friends in the downtown area. Produced by WIT STUDIO, the studio behind "SPY x FAMILY" and "Attack on Titan Season 3," the series will feature voice actors including Iguchi Yuka as Rozemyne and Show Hayami as Ferdinand. The series will air on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV nationwide from April 4th, every Saturday at 5:30pm. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
◇Comment from Kazuhiro Yamaji
My adorable granddaughter, who I wouldn't mind putting in my eyes, has an unusual love for books. I want to cherish and protect her, but I'm just an oddly clumsy old knight. I don't want to know how things will unfold, and I want to let myself go with the flow of the story.
◇Comment from Nao Toyama
I was in charge of the theme song for the previous anime, but this time I'm happy to be involved as Angelica, Rosemyne's guardian knight! Despite her pure appearance, she has a cute, slightly absent-minded side that's unusual for a knight, and I hope to play her with all my heart!
◇Comment from Asami Seto
I will be voicing Brigitte. I love the family love and class structure depicted in Ascendance of a Bookworm, as well as Rosemyne's intelligence and cuteness, so I'm happy to be able to take part in the series. Please look forward to the broadcast.
◇Comment from Katsumi Fukuhara
Congratulations on the broadcast of "Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Lord's Adopted Daughter"! I am honored to be involved in the bookworm series! I will do my best to portray Zack's artisan spirit, so please look forward to it!
