It has been announced that a special event will be held to commemorate the advance screening of the TV anime "Tsugai: The Fallen," based on the latest work by Hiromu Arakawa, known for "Fullmetal Alchemist," as well as the special screening of the two "Fullmetal Alchemist" films. The first episode of the TV anime "Fullmetal Alchemist," "The One Who Challenges the Sun," and the first episode of "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood," will be available for free on YouTube for one week only. This special event will allow viewers to experience the flow that leads to the newly launched "Tsugai: The Fallen," by looking back at the "two beginnings" that have colored the series' history. Episode 1, "The One Who Challenges the Sun," will be available from 6 PM on March 6, and episode 1 of "Fullmetal Alchemist" will be available from 6 PM on March 13.
To commemorate this joint initiative, ABEMA will be streaming "Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" for free starting March 6th.
It was also announced that attendees of the advance screening of "Yomi no Tsugai" and the special screening of the two "Fullmetal Alchemist" films will receive a special gift of a specially illustrated miniature colored paper. The design is a collaboration between Edward Elric from "Fullmetal Alchemist" and characters from "Yomi no Tsugai."
At the special screening of the movie "Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa," Edward and Della's autograph cards will be distributed from March 6th to 12th, and at the special screening of "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos," Ed and Asa's autograph cards will be distributed from March 13th to 19th. At the advance screening of "Yomi no Tsugai" to be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on March 22nd, Ed and Yul's autograph cards will be given away. It was also announced that the two "Fullmetal Alchemist" movies will be screened as 4K remastered versions.
"Yomi no Tsugai" is the story of Yuru and Asa, who were born as "twins separated by day and night." It has been serialized in "Monthly Shonen Gangan" (Square Enix) since December 2021, and the total number of copies of the comic series has exceeded 5 million.
The TV anime will be produced by Square Enix, Aniplex, and Bones, the same studios that produced the "Fullmetal Alchemist" anime series, which aired from 2003 to 2011. It will be directed by Masahiro Ando, who has worked on "Stranger: Mukoujin Tan" and "Zetsuen no Tempest," with character design by Arai Nobuhiro, who has worked on "Bungo Stray Dogs," and series composition by Takagi Noboru, who has worked on "Durarara!!" and "Golden Kamuy," and music by Suehiro Kenichiro, who has worked on "Re:Zero."
Kensho Ono will play the main character Yuru, with Yume Miyamoto as Asa, Yuichi Nakamura as Dela, and Misaki Kuno as Gabu-chan. The series will air on TOKYO MX and other channels from 11:30 PM on April 4th. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
