The final episode (episode 8) of the drama series "Detective, Your Backpack is Open" starring actor Ryuhei Matsuda(Fridays at 11:15 PM, excluding some regions) will be broadcast on February 27th. A series of secret guests will appear, including a "big name actor."
Matsuda himself was involved in the planning of the drama, and it is a heartwarming mystery that was born from a collaboration with screenwriter and director Shuichi Okita. Set in the small rural town of Nishigaya Onsen, the story follows detective and inventor Yosuke Ichinose (played by Matsuda) as he solves a succession of strange requests in a relaxed manner, a heartwarming story that will make you laugh and cry.
In the final episode, Yosuke, urged on by the passionate support of his housemates, including Kasumi (Yuki Katayama), rushes to prepare for the reopening of his family's closed hot spring inn, "Yuragiya." Meanwhile, his mother, Emi (Mieko Harada), who has been traveling around the world, suddenly returns to Japan and hands Yosuke a letter.
Emi happens to meet a colleague from Yosuke's time as a researcher in the United States, who entrusts her with a letter. The letter says that Yosuke's help is needed for a major project to develop a rocket that uses people's bad words as energy.
Yosuke is wavering about going to America. As the time for him to make a decision approaches, his best friend Shimizu (Okura Koji) finds himself in a dire predicament. Yosuke receives an SOS and attempts to rescue Shimizu, but the situation soon escalates into a major commotion that mobilizes the entire population of Nishigaya Onsen.
