Yuuka Sugai, a former member of the idol group Sakurazaka46 and an actress, hit the target in the G1 horse racing race, the February Stakes, held at Tokyo Racecourse (Fuchu City, Tokyo) on February 22nd.
The race unfolded with strong horses in the lead, with the second-favorite Costa Nova winning, becoming the third horse in history to win consecutive races, followed by the third-favorite Wilson Tesoro and the first-favorite Double Heart Bond. Sugai hit the trifecta with Double Heart Bond as the center.
On the horse racing program "Keiba BEAT" (Kantele), where Sugai serves as MC, she predicted an 8-point winning combination centered on Double Heart Bond, and although she got it right, she timidly reported that she "wish we were just a little bit in the black..." with regard to the most popular combination. Along with congratulations from fans, there were also comments such as "A win is a win, Yuuka" and "It's okay to be in the negative (loss)."
