The cover art for the second volume of the Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD of the TV anime "Higashijima Tanzaburou Wants to Become Kamen Rider," based on the manga by Yokusaru Shibata, known for works such as "Hachi-One Diver," has been revealed. It features a "transformation" clear case featuring Yuriko Okada, and by attaching the transparent case with the mask design of the Denpa Ningen Tackle to the digital jacket, the character can transform into Tackle. Volume 2 will be released on March 25th.
It was also announced that the anime's non-credit opening video, currently available on YouTube, has surpassed 2 million views. The video, which was released on October 12, 2025, features the main characters' battle scenes, transformation scenes, and special move scenes.
An event will be held on February 25th to commemorate the release of the first volume of the Blu-ray and DVD. Konishi Katsuyuki, who plays Higashijima Tanzaburou, and Shocker fighters will appear at Animate Ikebukuro Main Store (Toshima Ward, Tokyo), and participants will receive a Kamen Rider No. 1 mask and be able to take photos with Shocker.
The series began serialization in Monthly Heroes (Heroes, currently out of print) in 2018, and is currently being serialized on the manga distribution site Comiplex (same publisher). It depicts the "serious Kamen Rider play" of adults who love Kamen Rider, including Tanzaburou Higashijima, who was serious about becoming Kamen Rider even at the age of 40. Ishimori Productions and Toei are collaborating with the series.
The anime is directed by Ikezoe Takahiro and series composition is by Machida Doko. It is produced by Liden Films. In addition to Konishi as Higashijima Tanzaburo, the cast also includes Kayano Ai as Okada Yuriko, Suzumura Kenichi as Shimamura Ichiyo, Saito Soma as Shimamura Mitsuha, Fairouz Ai as Yukaris, and Tsuda Kenjiro as Nakao Hachiro. It is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other channels.
