The fifth chapter of the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199," titled "The Incandescent Galactic War," was released on February 20th. The main visual for the fifth chapter was accompanied by the copy, "The last minute, everything turns upside down," which has become a hot topic, and this copy is no lie. It was truly a shocking ending that "turned everything upside down." We spoke to Fukui Harutoshi, the general director, about the shocking ending.

"Yamato 3199" consists of seven chapters, and is a re-imagining of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III," with new interpretations added. At the end of the fifth chapter, Yamato enters a space-time nexus using a series of warps. After passing through the torrent of space-time, it takes a shocking turn of events to find itself somewhere above Tokyo in 2026, approximately 200 years ago.
Fukui revealed, "It was an idea that we had from the beginning. I thought that if we could do this, we could do '3199'. It's not that there is no reference to the original work. The original work was set 200 years in the future on Earth (disguised as the planet Desarium), but we took advantage of that and tried to set it 200 years in the past this time."
The preview for Chapter 6, "The Blue Labyrinth," was also shocking. It's intriguing to see what will happen to the Yamato crew when they travel back in time to 2026. "The Yamato crew has always been right up until now, but things are starting to go wrong. If they were in the same position as Desarium, they might do the same thing. This shows the fragility of human beings," he said.
The book titled "Diplomacy," which was briefly seen in the preview, is also of interest, with the comment, "It seems like the focus should be on the author's name..."
