The 91st episode of the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Takaishi Akari, was broadcast on February 9th, and viewers reacted to a comment made by Nishikori's (Yoshizawa Ryo) younger brother, Takeru (Sugita Rairin).
In episode 91, Nishikori is reading Heaven's "A Journal of My Stay in Japan" in his room. He repeatedly recites the line, "She's my only close friend and we share the same literary values," and grins. Then, his younger brother, Takeru, comes over.
Nishikori asked Takeru, "What do you want to do in the future?" Takeru replied, "It's hard to talk about that with the most brilliant player in Matsue's history," to which Nishikori replied, "Stop talking like that," and asked again, "What do you want to do after you graduate from junior high school?"
Takeru prefaced his answer by saying, "Please don't laugh..." before saying, "Eventually, I'll go to the same university as my big brother...to the Imperial University." Nishikori nodded and said, "Well said," and promised to support him in his bid to get into the Imperial University, saying, "Actually...becoming a principal will help me get you into the Imperial University," and "Heaven and I will take you to the Imperial University." Takeru was delighted, saying, "I'm happy...to hear you say that, my big brother."
Despite being such a brilliant student that he's been called "a great genius," Nishikori did not actually graduate from the Imperial University, and he doesn't even have a teaching license. Viewers were captivated by Takeru's comment, "Just like my brother...to the Imperial University," and comments like "Does Takeru not know that his brother didn't graduate from the Imperial University...?", "Wait, doesn't Takeru know that Nishikori didn't go to the Imperial University either?? It feels like things are about to get turbulent, it's depressing...", "Could Nishikori be hiding the fact that he didn't graduate from the Imperial University, even from his younger brother...?", "Does Takeru really not know?
