Nippon Television will broadcast a special program titled "Zero Election 2026" from 7:58 PM in preparation for the House of Representatives election on February 8th, with Takahiko Fujii and Sho Sakurai from the "news zero" program as main anchors. The two-part program will run until 2:30 AM (with "Going!" scheduled to run from 11:55 PM to 1:05 AM), making it the longest-running special program on commercial TV.
Based on the concept of "Thinking on election night: Is it true?", the show will provide original analysis of how each party, candidate, and voter used social media and what information had an impact, as the influence of social media increases along with the election results and the use of generative AI becomes more widespread.
Commentary will be provided by Nippon Television's special commentator Oguri Izumi, and the election results will be reported by announcers Ito Ryo and Sato Rina. In the second part, announcer Taki Natsuki will join as host, and JX Press's Yoneshige Katsuhiro is also scheduled to appear. In addition, Nippon Television NEWS24 will be broadcasting a special House of Representatives election program from 2:30 a.m. until 4:30 a.m. the following morning.
