A new video series, "Yoshine Kyoko's (Live) Travels," starring actress Yoshine Kyoko, has been released on JR East's official YouTube channel.
The series is a documentary-style travel video that conveys the charm of each destination as it is through live footage shot by Yoshine on a vlog camera. The videos, which are unedited and capture the "journey itself," such as casual conversations and honest reactions to new places, have garnered support, and the total number of views has exceeded 30 million since the channel was launched in May 2024.
This "Hirosaki Edition" is set in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, where the history and culture of the castle town remain strong, and visitors will be able to fully enjoy the charms of Hirosaki, including the origins of Neputa, dialect culture such as Tsugaru dialect, indigo dyeing and craft experiences, and local ingredients.
The first part shows her positive side, her eyes sparkling and her smile constantly shining, even in the middle of a snowstorm as she says, "I think I can take some good pictures," as well as her indigo dyeing experience. The second part depicts her growing sense of distance from the city as she eats apples and ramen with gusto, and her emotional reaction at Hirosaki Park in winter.
Yoshine commented, "I've always wanted to share exactly what I felt on my travels. When I heard that it had exceeded 30 million views, I realized how many people are really watching. I often see comments like, 'I went on the same trip as the live show,' so I hope everyone will enjoy their own journeys."
