The fifth episode of NHK's "Drama 10: The Uncertain Court of Themis" (General TV, Tuesdays at 10pm), starring actor Matsuyama Kenichi, will be broadcast on February 3rd. "The Uncertain Courtroom of Themis" is based on a unique legal mystery by Sho Naoshima. It is a courtroom drama about a judge with a developmental disorder who struggles with his own unique characteristics while taking on complex cases. The screenplay is written by Hideya Hamada, who has also written the Fuji TV series "Ichikei no Karasu" and the "Absolute Zero" series.
In episode 5, when bailiff Tsumura (Ichikawa Mikako) visits the apartment of a Vietnamese man named Nguyen to demand his forced eviction, Nguyen stabs her.
Ochiai (Tsunematsu Yuri), an elite assistant judge who places importance on document-based judgment, argues that the eviction order she issued was appropriate and that the responsibility lies with Tsumura, who was not careful enough. On the other hand, Ando (Matsuyama), who places importance on human testimony, proposes that the court take the lead in clarifying Nguyen's motive for the stabbing, but Ochiai strongly opposes this argument...
