On February 1st, Atsuki Masuko of the dance and vocal group "GENIC" held a launch event for his 2026 calendar, "Atsuki Masuko Calendar 2026.04-2027.03" (KADOKAWA), at HMV & BOOKS SHIBUYA (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). In an interview before the event, Masuko spoke about his feelings about the end of the TV Asahi special effects drama "Super Sentai Series."
Masuko played the role of Two Kaiser/Zox Gold Tweaker in the 45th anniversary production of the Super Sentai series, "Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger" (2021-2022). When asked about his feelings towards Super Sentai, he said, "I'm really happy that I was able to play an active role as a hero for children in the Super Sentai that I've been watching since I was a child," and smiled, "I'm proud to have been able to be a part of such a wonderful work as Super Sentai."
He revealed that there is also a group LINE for "Zenkaiger," and said in his unique way, "Everyone is busy, so I'm happy about that busyness. It makes me feel happy," drawing laughter.
He also mentioned that the calendar was released on January 30th, which was the birthday of Komakine Arata, a friend with whom he co-starred in "Zenkaiger." He sent a "love call" with a smile, saying, "I previously received Kii-chan's (Komakine-san) calendar and have been displaying it next to my pillow. I'm going to give it to you as a gift, so I hope you do the same!"
The calendar is set in Shanghai, China, where she visited for the stage production of "Spirited Away," and features "super beautiful cuts" that were taken with a focus on costumes and situations, as well as a relaxed "life-size, natural face" that she shows in Japan. It is a B5-sized, 12-month tabletop calendar, priced at 3,080 yen.
He said that the October cut was his favorite, saying, "My eyes and face were shining in Shanghai...It was after the performance of 'Spirited Away,' so I think it's a cut that really captures how I've grown."
