The fifth episode, "The Flower of Truth," of NHK BS and NHKBS Premium 4K's "The Secret Pleasures of Kyoto People Rouge - Inheritance" (Sundays at 10 p.m.), starring Hoshi Moeka as the heroine, will be broadcast on February 1st.
◇The story of "Raku" Hoshi Moeka and "Sanhachiko" Tokiwa Takako
"Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures Rouge - Inheritance" depicts the issue of "succession" at Kuraya Harunobu, one of Kyoto's most renowned Japanese confectionery shops, boasting a 240-year tradition. Miyako (Hoshi Moeka), who grew up in Paris, is approached by her father, Mikami Takeru (Ishimaru Kanji), to consider taking over the long-established confectionery shop. She ends up moving into her stepmother, Miyako (Tokiwa Takako),'s family home, Kuraya Harunobu, and begins living with Tsuruko (Ginpocho). When Miko returns from Paris to act as "tutor," the three women begin their life together.
In episode 5, Raku is getting a little tired of learning from Sanhachiko about kimono dressing, tea ceremony, calligraphy, and other skills to become a landlady. The long-established Japanese confectionery shop, Kurakuya, is in the busiest season of the year. Tsuruko works hard at her job as a landlady despite her illness, and Raku also begins his apprenticeship. On the night of the harvest moon, while viewing the moon, Sanhachiko and Tsuruko say, "The 'later harvest moon' is more 'hannari' than the harvest moon itself." As Raku tries to research the meaning of "hannari," what does Shinonome (Watanabe Ken) say?
◇Kento Hayashi, the "Kotaro" from "Blue Training" is finally here!
"Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures Rouge - Inheritance" is set in the long-established Japanese confectionery shop, Kuraya Harunobu. The story is set eight years after Sawafuji Sanya, the "Kyoto person among Kyoto people" depicted in "Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures," which aired five times irregularly from January 2015 to May 2017, left for Paris. The story revolves around the new heroine, Mikami Raku, and Sanya, and depicts the heavy burden of "succession" for the people of Kyoto. In the fifth episode, Kento Hayashi, the gardener Wakabayashi Kent Kotaro, played by Kento Hayashi in "Kyoto People's Secret Pleasures Blue - In Training," which aired from 2017 to 2022, makes an appearance.
