It has been announced that Mikio Date and Takeshi Tomizawa of the comedy duo "Sandwichman" will be appearing on the 50th anniversary special of Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room," which will be broadcast on February 1st (TV Asahi network, excluding some areas).
The two rushed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the program, bringing with them local Miyagi specialties. They brought a ton of delicious Miyagi treats, including Japanese sweets from Sendai, which Kuroyanagi had requested when she appeared on the program previously, asking, "Do you have any more?" They also shared some with Terao Akira, Takada Junji, and Ishihara Yoshizumi, who had appeared in the previous segment, and everyone had a blast talking about their impressions of the souvenirs.
During the talk, Sandwichman revealed that although they are now popular comedians, they had almost no comedy work during their early 10 years, and lived with their partner in a cheap apartment while working part-time jobs. They also revealed some unusual stories from their part-time jobs at the time, surprising Kuroyanagi.
Meanwhile, Kuroyanagi asks the show's usual "impossible request" by asking, "Do you have any recent impersonations?" The two perform their best impersonations with a wry smile, saying, "We haven't won any awards for our impersonations (laughs)," and Kuroyanagi responds with a big laugh, "That's great!"
There was also a project titled "Sandwichman Wants to See 'Tetsuko's Room'." When the two were shown a rare video of Ashida Mana, who they co-star with on "Hakase-chan" (TV Asahi, Saturday 6:56 pm), at the age of six, they were once again impressed by her cleverness, saying, "She's really amazing!"
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the program, "Celebrating Tetsuko's Room's 50th Anniversary: A Super Luxury! Celebration Special with the Whole Entertainment Industry," will be broadcast from 5:00 PM to 8:56 PM on February 1st. Appearances announced include Terao, Takada, Ishihara, Snow Man's Meguro Ren, Akashiya Sanma, Shofutei Tsurube, Asada sisters Mai and Mao, Miyazawa Rie, Hirano Remi, Shimizu Michiko, Moriyama Ryoko, Koizumi Kotaro, Takashima Chisako, and Fujimori Shingo.
