The fourth episode of the new TV anime adaptation of Motoei Shinzawa's comedy manga "High School! Kimengumi," which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) in the 1980s, titled "Time Travel! Hot-Blooded Teacher/Monoboshi Dai: Is There a Bone to Fill?" will be broadcast on Fuji TV's anime slot "Noitamina" at 11:30 pm on January 30th. The TV anime adaptation of the work aired from 1985 to 1987, and this will be the first time it has been adapted into an anime in about 39 years.
In "Take Time! The Passionate Teacher," Mr. Kotoshiro, who dreams of becoming a passionate teacher from the Showa era, arrives as the new assistant homeroom teacher for the overly free-spirited Class 1-5. While he becomes passionate about trying to restore the loving teacher-student relationship of the old days, the Kimengumi continue to be as eccentric and independent as ever. In "Monoboshi Dai: Is There a Bone to Fill?", the high school's leader, Teme Ono Wakazo, appears. While searching for the next leader, he suddenly spots Dai and intends to give him a piece of his mind, but ends up being toyed with.
The new anime will be directed by Kazuaki Seki, known for films such as "Kakkaku Shikajika" and "Beethoven Fabrication," and produced by Animation Studio Seven. The Kimengumi members, Rei Ido, will be played by Tomokazu Seki, Go Reikoshi, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Jin Oma, and Kikunosuke Toya, will play Dai Monohoshi.
The original series began as "3-nen Kimengumi" in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1980, and was renamed "High School! Kimengumi" in 1982 as the characters progressed to higher education. It's a slapstick school comedy featuring the Kimengumi, a group of five middle school students: Ichidou Rei, Reikoshi Go, Idese Kiyoshi, Oma Jin, and Monohoshi Dai, along with Kawa Yui and Uru Chie. The TV anime, which aired from 1985 to 1987, also gained popularity with its theme song, sung by Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi, a spin-off unit of the idol group Onyanko Club.
