The third episode of the drama series "Reunion ~Silent Truth~" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), starring actor Takeuchi Ryoma, was broadcast on January 27th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 6.1% for households and 3.6% for individuals.
The drama is a film adaptation of Yokoseki Dai's novel "Reunion" (Kodansha), which won the 56th Edogawa Rampo Prize (2010), starring Takeuchi. Four classmates share a "secret" that they buried the gun used in a crime under a cherry tree during their elementary school days. 23 years later, Junichi (Takeuchi), who has become a detective, reunites with his first love, Iwamoto Makiko (Inoue Mao), one of the four, only to find that she has become a suspect in a new murder case. This heartbreaking human love mystery begins with a fateful reunion.
The subtitle of episode 3 is "The Lies of the Accomplices."
Who took a gun that was buried secretly 23 years ago and committed a murder? As the investigation into the case progresses, Detective Minami Ryo (Eguchi Noriko) says she wants to question four of Junichi's classmates, including him. Junichi, along with his classmates who share the secret - Makiko, Keisuke (Seto Koji), and Naoto (Watanabe Daichi) - dig up the time capsule where the gun was supposed to be sealed, but it has been emptied. A conflict between suspicions and the desire to trust his friends unfolds...
