It has been revealed that a stellar cast of 17 people, including Evangelion, who plays Ikari Shinji, will appear in the series' first original voice drama, "Cast Appearance Spin-off Voice Drama (tentative title)," which will be shown at "EVANGELION: 30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION (Eva Fest)," an event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the popular anime series "Evangelion." The voice drama will be exclusive to the venue and will be an "unbelievable" spin-off story. An incident caused by a certain person at NERV Headquarters eventually involves the WILLE crew... It will be broadcast on February 22nd.
In addition to Ogata, the voice drama will feature Megumi Hayashibara as Rei, Megumi Hayashibara as Shikinami Asuka Langley, Maaya Sakamoto as Makinami Mari Illustrious, Kotono Maaya Sakamoto as Katsuragi Misato, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Akagi Ritsuko, Akira Ishida as Nagisa Kaworu, Fumihiko Tachiki as Ikari Gendo, Tetsuya Iwanaga as Aida Kensuke, Junko Iwao as Horaki Hikari/Suzuhara Hikari, Miki Nagasawa as Ibuki Maya, Hiro Yuki as Hinata Makoto, Akio Otsuka as Takao Koji, Sayaka Ohara as Nagara Sumire, Mariya Ise, Anri Katsu as Tama Hideki, and Koichi Yamadera as Kaji Ryoji.
Eva Fest is the series' first major three-day festival, taking place from February 21st to 23rd at Yokohama Arena (Kohoku-ku, Yokohama). Creators from Studio Khara will be in charge of overall direction. The venue will be divided into an exhibition area called "EVA EXTRA 30" and a stage event area called "STAGE AREA," and will feature projects that express the "past" and "future" of "Evangelion." In addition to an opening event featuring voice actors, the festival will also unveil "Kabuki Symphony No. 100 Evangelion ," the first collaboration between the " Evangelion " series and the traditional performing art of kabuki, and a new short anime called " Evangelion Broadcast 30th Anniversary Special Performance."
The "Evangelion" series began airing on October 4, 1995 with the TV anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion," and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025.
