It has been announced that the popular light novel "Goddess: 'What Do You Want to Be in Another World?' Me: 'As a Hero's Rib'" (Takarajimasha), which is Shosetsuka ni Naro a Novelist," will be adapted into a TV anime and begin airing in April. The original work is set in a world where you can freely choose where you are reincarnated, and tells the thrilling story of the protagonist "I" who is repeatedly reincarnated into a bizarre world, including "the rib of a cheating hero with a harem and happy ending," a hermit crab, and a vegetable. An unprecedented image visual has been released, with the names of the anime's cast and staff shaped like ribs.
The anime will be directed by Yasufumi Soejima and produced by Qzil.la and SoK. It will star Atsushi Abe as the protagonist "I," M.A.O as the Goddess, Daisuke Namikawa Namikawa as Master Sockeye Salmon, Toshihiko Seki as Show Hayami Tanaka, and Sho Hayami as the Creator God. Other cast members announced include Kana Asumi, Yuka Iguchi, Marina Inoue, Yuji Ueda, Yuma Uchida, Megumi Ogata, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Ayana Taketatsu Kaneda, Ayako Kawasumi, Ayana Taketatsu, Shigeru Chiba, Mina Tominaga, Kazuya Nakai, Yoko Hikasa, Minori Fujidera, Yoshikazu Hirano, Mitsunori Fujidera, Maxwell Powers, Rica Matsumoto, Shinichiro Miki, and Ayumu Murase.
Original author Yasuyasu commented, "To sum up what kind of work this is, it's a collection of sequels to Ogiri reincarnation stories. To put it in a more sophisticated way, it's a Don Quixote story from One Thousand and One Nights dedicated to a loved one. To put it more realistically, it's the crystallization of an author's bad habit of wanting to let loose after being tired of a string of serious developments. It's a multiverse story in which different worlds are expressed by different creators. Why not do a little preparation before you get reincarnated into another world?"
Mebaru, the original character designer, said, "It's been five years since the release of the first volume, for which I was in charge of the illustrations, and the next news was that it was being made into an anime, so to be honest, I still can't believe it. I hope that you will enjoy the dialogue between the moving and talking goddess and the main character, while still retaining the same fast-paced fun of the published version!"
Director Soejima said, "When I came across this work by Yasuyasu-sensei, which bounces around at incredible angles and speeds...I couldn't help but do all the things that I would normally be told not to do or that would be forbidden when making anime, saying, 'That's way too much!'...It turned out to be an anime like a wasabi sushi roll that doesn't hold back, so please be prepared to enjoy it."
Abe, who plays the role of ``I'', commented, ``Hello everyone, I'm Abe Atsushi, the voice of I. The Hero's Rib is being made into an anime! It's a work that's originally filled with a lot of fun, but it's been further polished for the anime adaptation! Please come and see for yourself. Look forward to it!''
M.A.O, who plays the role of the Goddess, said, "I felt that the goddess in charge of reincarnation into another world was very charming, with a playful side that lies within her laid-back and calm demeanor! Her conversations with the protagonist are full of back-and-forth banter, so I tried to act in a way that would really capture that light-hearted tempo. As the title suggests, the world the protagonist is reincarnated into is truly unique, and the characters that appear are also very diverse. I hope you'll look forward to seeing what kind of 'life' I'll lead in my new world. Thank you very much!"
Namikawa, who plays Master Sockeye Salmon, commented, "A crazy work is about to be born. The title already sounds strange. The content is also strange. The characters that appear are also strange. And in the midst of all this, I have been entrusted with the character of Sockeye Salmon. It's strange, isn't it? But it's interesting!"
Seki, who plays Tanaka, said, "Anyway, I was really intrigued by this long title, which is popular these days, and wondered what kind of story it was, but when I opened the lid, I couldn't hide my confusion, thinking, 'What on earth is going on here?!' What's more, there are a series of surreal settings that are different every time! As my character Tanaka, I did my best, going with the flow. But, ladies and gentlemen, the more episodes there are, the more this surrealism transforms into something that becomes addictive and interesting. This is an anime that you must see!"
Hayami, who plays the Creator God, commented, "Well, I thought it would be a typical setting and story, but it was incredible! Wow, I was blown away. It was psychedelic, tricky, middle school-like, and somehow melancholic. I was hooked. Well, if you keep watching, you'll be hooked. I'm a god, I suppose, but what was it really? Well, you'll have to watch and decide for yourself. Come to think of it, it really hurt when I cracked my ribs."
