It has recently been announced that actress Eiko Koike will be starring in the drama series "Mushroom Three Stars" (General), scheduled to air on NHK in May of this year. The series is based on a masterpiece non-fiction book written by Keiko Kuroyanagi, a registered dietitian in a prison, which describes the unknown food situation inside prisons. Koike will play the main character, Yoko Ginbayashi, who will work as a registered dietitian in a prison.
"Muchorin Three Stars" is a "prison social comedy drama" that depicts the protagonist, who is renowned as a skilled Italian chef, who ends up working as a registered dietitian at a prison by chance and overcomes the troubles and turmoil he encounters with the prison guards and inmates behind bars.
Koike commented, "Prison food. Although I can only vaguely imagine it, I learned that there are thoughts of the registered dietitians and conflicts among the prison guards. I hope that this work will convey the 'sanctity of human eating.' Although it is a story set behind bars, I am working hard on filming with my reliable co-stars, sometimes laughing! I would like to act carefully while cherishing the feelings of the original author, Kuroyanagi Keiko, who is the model for the character I play, Ginrin Yoko. Please look forward to it!"
