The completion ceremony for the fifth chapter of the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199," titled "The Incandescent Galactic War," was held on January 23rd at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), where Koichi Yamadera, who plays Desler, appeared. Regarding one of Desler's lines in the fifth chapter, Yamadera said, "I never thought I'd be given a line like that. I was so happy! I never thought I'd get that."
Changes can also be seen in Desler in "Yamato 3199." Yamadera said, "Desler has had a variety of experiences, and he's grown as he's been able to connect with everyone on Yamato. The biggest thing is that he's started to listen to what people have to say. He even listens to Domon's story. I feel like he has more composure. Desler used to sneer and easily purge people, but in Chapters 4 and 5 he starts to praise people." General director Fukui Harutoshi nodded and said, "He's lost his impatience to step forward and has become like a veteran comedian."
The stage greeting was also attended by Nobuhiko Okamoto, who plays Tokugawa Tasuke, Horie Shun, who plays Isidor, and director Yamato Naomichi, and was hosted by Nakamura Eriko, who plays Kiryu Mikage.
"Yamato 3199" is a reimagining of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III," with a new interpretation added. Harutoshi Fukui serves as general director. There are seven chapters in total, with the fifth chapter set to premiere on February 20th.
