The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday, 1pm), which will air from January 26th to 30th, has been announced. The guest episodes to be aired on the 26th will feature actors Manami Fuji and Mariko Kaga, on the 27th actors Takehiko Ono and Kunio Murai, on the 28th actor Koichi Iwaki and his wife Anna Yuki, on the 29th actor Tomio Umezawa and singer Naoko Ken, and on the 30th entertainers Tsutomu Sekine and Kazuki Kosaka.
Fuji and Kaga have been best friends for 60 years. They originally lived in the same neighborhood and often visited each other's houses. They also talk about their memories of their mutual best friend, actress Kazuko Yoshiyuki, who passed away last September.
Ono and Murai met at Haiyuza training school in Roppongi in 1963. Their homes were close to each other, and Ono enjoyed drinking and eating delicious home-cooked meals by Murai's wife, actress Mikiko Otonashi, so much that he ended up staying longer than expected.
Iwaki and Yuki have been married for 50 years. They are both in their 70s. Iwaki used to go out drinking in Ginza every evening and return home at dawn, but since last year he has stopped going there altogether. Iwaki says he is happiest when he spends time at home with his wife and their dog.
Umezawa and Ken say they are each other's only "best friends" in the entertainment industry. They are both in their 70s, but last year was full of firsts for them. Umezawa says he is proud of being selected as a voice actor for a Disney movie after an audition.
This is the first time that both Sekine and Kosaki have appeared since turning 70. They have been affectionately known as "Kosakin" for about half a century. Sekine continues to dote on his two grandchildren and reminisces about his daughter Mari's childhood.
