Actor Suzuki Ryohei appeared at the advance screening of the second episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sunday 9pm) held in Tokyo on January 22nd.
When asked about the first episode, which aired on the 18th, Suzuki said with a smile, "The response has been amazing." He seemed to be feeling the response, saying, "I really feel the enthusiasm of the viewers." He also said with a smile, "I was especially happy when my fellow actors sent me a bullet-point list of what they liked about my acting, telling me that I did a good job."
Yukiya Kitamura, who plays Goroku, and scriptwriter Tsutomu Kuroiwa also appeared. Kitamura revealed, "I was contacted by the wife of an acquaintance of mine, who says that if someone says something is interesting, it will definitely be a hit, and she told me, 'This drama will be a hit,'" and the three of them spoke with conviction, saying, "It's sure to be a hit."
Suzuki said he plans to watch the broadcast live, and warned the audience who have seen the second episode, "Please don't tell anyone," and called out, "It gets more and more interesting with episodes three, four, and five, and it's a nonstop, entertaining series, so let's enjoy 'Reboot' together for three months."
The drama is an original work that popular screenwriter Tsutomu Kuroiwa spent three years planning. It is a suspense story about a kind-hearted pastry chef, Hayase Riku (Matsuyama Kenichi), who is framed for the murder of his wife, but must abandon his beloved family and past and pose as corrupt Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department detective Gido Ayumu (Suzuki) in order to prove his innocence and find the real culprit.
