The 72nd episode of the NHK morning drama " Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi , was broadcast on January 13th, and viewers expressed concern about Heaven ( Tommy Bastow ) , who tries so hard to adapt to the Japanese way of doing things.
Although they have started their married life, Toki (Takaishi) is too shy to call Heaven by her name. During their first breakfast in their new home, Kajitani (Iwasaki Udai), a reporter who has heard about their move, suddenly comes to interview them.
When Kajitani asked, "Isn't there any hassle about living with a Japanese person?" Heaven replied, "I'm good at Japanese things. I'll do my best." and "I'm Japanese," revealing that she doesn't mind sitting upright.
Later, Nishikori ( Ryo Yoshizawa Ryo) comes to pick Heaven up and introduces her to her personal rickshaw driver, Nagami Kenzo (Onishi Nobumitsu). Heaven tries to kiss Toki on the cheek, saying "Let's go," but Toki is surprised and refuses, saying "This is Japan," which upsets Heaven.
The next morning, Governor Eto (Shiro Sano) visits Heaven, and Matsue residents who had read the newspaper article flock to the house with housewarming gifts in hand.
Heaven sits across from Eto in seiza, and Eto is surprised, saying, "You're really good at seiza!" Eto gives Heaven a pair of geta as a housewarming gift from his daughter Rio (Kana Kita). Eto urges her to try them on, but Heaven moves her feet restlessly... and with this scene, the episode ends.
