It was revealed on January 5th that the rock unit B'z will be performing the new opening theme (OP) "Heaven Knows" for the TV anime "Detective Conan," which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. This will be the unit's first theme song for a "Detective Conan" TV series in about four years, since the 2022 opening "SLEEPLESS," and their eighth song overall. "Heaven Knows" will be played as the opening from the January 10th broadcast. The new ending theme, "TOWA ~Ride the Wind Forever~," will be performed by Mai Kuraki.
The collaboration between B'z and Detective Conan began with the opening theme song "Girigiri Chop" in 1999. Takahiro Matsumoto and Koshi Inaba commented, "Congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan anime! As B'z, we have collaborated on various songs up until now, and songs related to Conan stand like signposts at various points along the path we have walked. Now, in this memorable 30th anniversary year, we are in charge of the opening theme for the first time in a long time, and we were very excited to begin production. It would be fantastic if "Heaven Knows" could add even more momentum to Detective Conan. Please look forward to it!"
The official YouTube channel for the anime "Detective Conan" has released all of the opening and ending videos from the series.
The key visual, which has been updated for the 30th anniversary edition, has also been released. The visual is dotted with nostalgic scenes and the catchphrase, "We are where we are today because you were there. 30th anniversary, and on to the next mystery..." is said to be filled with gratitude to all viewers who love "Detective Conan."
