Actor Mayu Hotta's first starring movie, "36.8℃," is now available on platforms like FOD, Amazon Prime Video, and Lemino. The film was shot in 2017 and has never been released on DVD, making it the long-awaited release for fans.
Set in the rustic scenery of Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture, Hotta's sensitive portrayal of the feverish fluctuations of youth is a film that hints at her future success. Her parents are played by Yasufumi Terawaki and Makiko Watanabe, and the cast also includes Amon Hirai and Nagisa Nishino. The film was directed and written by Mana Yasuda.
Every day is a repetition of a little happiness and a little sadness. Youth is truly a low-grade fever... Wakana (Hotta), a 17-year-old high school girl, tends to be reserved in many ways. She lives peacefully with her family and friends, but sometimes she senses a subtle difference in temperature and becomes troubled. Her future path is uncertain, her family's expectations are high, and she is concerned about her ex-boyfriend. The only person she can confide her worries to is Mizuho, an office worker she met on social media... This is the story.
