It has been announced that chapter 431, "More," from the final 42nd volume of Kohei Horikoshi's manga "My Hero Academia, " serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, will be adapted into an anime. The episode, titled "No. 170+1 'More,'" will air on May 2, 2026, at 5:30 PM on Yomiuri TV and 29 other stations nationwide affiliated with Nippon TV. This new chapter, originally written by Horikoshi and included in the final 42nd volume, was not originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump. It follows Class 1-A, including Deku Izuku Midoriya, who has become a professional hero, eight years after graduating from U.A. High School . The TV anime series concluded with episode 170, " My Hero Academia," which aired on December 13, but, like the original manga, this episode will continue "beyond that."
The 10th anniversary project for the anime "My Hero Academia," "My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary," will be held in 2026, and "More" will be made into an anime as part of that project.
The 10th anniversary visual was also released. The visual, drawn by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi and produced by Bones Film, depicts the "10 Dekus" as they grow through the story, from their childhood, to their middle school days, and when they enter U.A. High School, all running forward in a spiral.
It was also announced that a concert featuring the soundtrack composed by Hayashi Yuki, "My Hero Academia in Concert," will be held both in Japan and overseas. The concert will kick off at the Pacifico Yokohama National Hall (Nishi-ku, Yokohama) on May 30, 2026, and will be held in other countries as well.
"My Hero Academia" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from July 2014 to August 2024. Set in a world where approximately 80% of the population possesses supernatural powers and quirks, the series follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The comics have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2016, the second from March to September 2017, the third from April to September 2018, the fourth from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth from March to September 2021, the sixth from October 2022 to March 2023, and the seventh from May to October 2024. The final chapter, "FINAL SEASON," began airing in October and aired its final episode on December 13th.
