To celebrate the release of the music unit DREAMS COME TRUE's first original album in about nine years, "THE BLACK ◯ ALBUM," WOWOW has announced that it will be programming a special program for 12 consecutive months starting in January next year. The lineup for the three programs starting in January has also been announced.
Starting at 10 PM on January 10th next year, WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand will broadcast and stream a live documentary of Dreams Come True's Miwa Yoshida's first solo album tour in 1996, titled "miwa yoshida concert tour beauty and harmony." The tour was held in support of her 1995 solo album "beauty and harmony," and she performed with some of the world's top musicians.
This DVD features newly remastered footage of the rare live documentary from the concert tour featuring Harvey Mason (drums), David T. Walker (guitar), Chuck Rainey (bass), Ralph MacDonald (percussion), Greg Adams (trumpet), Jai Winding (keyboards), and Eric Marienthal (saxophone), and includes interviews and rehearsal footage, primarily from the live performance at Orchard Hall (Shibuya, Tokyo).
The lineup from February next year onwards is as follows:
"miwa yoshida 'totsun no chiisai' tour of beauty & harmony 2" (scheduled to be broadcast and streamed in February): footage of the performance held at Zepp Fukuoka (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) on May 13, 2003. This premium live performance was only accessible to 0.0005% of Japan's population, and features Yoshida's free and elegant singing, as well as ample solo parts from legendary super musicians (guitar: David T. Walker, bass: Chuck Rainey, drums: Omar Hakim, piano: David Benoit).
"DREAMS COME TRUE beauty and harmony LIVE in LOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL JAPAN 2022" (scheduled to be broadcast and streamed in April): This video captures the performance held at Chichibu Muse Park (Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture) on May 14, 2022. LOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL, Europe's largest outdoor jazz festival, has been held annually since 2013 in East Sussex, England. Dreams Come True's first Japanese edition, "LOVE SUPREME JAZZ FESTIVAL JAPAN 2022," was held at Chichibu Muse Park, with Dreams Come True serving as headliner. Yoshida's recording work "beauty and harmony" was performed alongside some of the world's leading musicians, including Hiromi Uehara, who performed with the group for the first time in 13 years. Chris Coleman (drums), Masayoshi Furukawa (guitar), and Tomoaki Baba (saxophone) also performed.
