Actor Yo Oizumi attended a press conference for his starring drama "A Little Esper" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), which airs its final episode that night, held at the TV Asahi headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo on December 16th. He revealed that he had gone to dinner with co- Masaki Okada and Okada's wife Mitsuki Takahata.
The original script for this work was written by Akiko Nogi, and it has been much talked about. Oizumi and Okada play the two "Bun-chans."
Oizumi recalled, "When I went to dinner with Okada and his wife, Takahata Mitsuki, before the first episode had even aired, I said, 'I really hate the scene where Okada and I switch bodies,' and Takahata Mitsuki got really angry, saying, 'I feel like I've been spoiled a lot (laughs)." Although it was a setting that was revealed towards the end of the series, he said with a wry smile, "It was so obvious to us that I just blurted it out."
Dean Fujioka, who plays fellow esper Sakurasuke, also attended. Regarding the final episode, Oizumi commented, "The final episode was amazing! The thrilling developments at the Christmas market are just what you'd expect from Akiko Nogi!" Dean Fujioka also appealed, "The final episode really depicts what we give up and what we protect. Please look forward to it tonight at 9pm!"
