It has been announced that actress Misako Renbutsu will be appearing in the NHK evening drama "Hirayasumi" (General TV, Monday to Thursday 10:45pm), starring Okayama Amane. Renbutsu, who is also well known for her role as a pastry chef in "Vanilla Everyday", will be returning to the evening drama for the first time in about eight months since the end of that series.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Shinzo Keigo, which has been serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2021. The story follows 29-year-old part-time worker Ikuta Hiroto (Okayama) who inherits a single-story house from his neighbor, Wada Hanae (Negishi Tokie), and begins living with his 18-year-old cousin Kobayashi Natsumi (Mori Nana), who moved to Tokyo from Yamagata. People with difficult life problems gather around them...
Renbutsu, who plays Noguchi Saki, the wife of Hiroto's best friend, Hideki (Yoshimura Kaito), who is annoying but somehow lovable, said, "I never thought I'd be returning to a night drama so soon after 'Vanilla Everyday'! I was happy when the producer said 'Welcome back' during the costume fitting."
She also revealed, "The original work was so wonderful that I headed to the set with the sole desire to go to Hiraya and enter this world." She added, "That time felt like summer vacation when I was a child. It was a set where I was able to experience the concept of 'knowing what is enough.' I would like to laze around in front of the TV and savor the loveliness of Hiroto and his friends as they go about their everyday lives."
In addition, the comedy duo Asagaya Sisters will appear in the drama as themselves, and it has been announced that Taro Suruga will appear as Nikaido Yasuki, an editor at a manga magazine.
