It has been announced that the first film, "Gamera: Guardian of the Universe," will be re-released in 4K HDR from November 21, with the third film, "Gamera 3: The Awakening of Iris," also scheduled for release in 4K HDR. Trailers for "Gamera: Guardian of the Universe" in 4K HDR and "Gamera 2: Attack of Legion" in 4K HDR have also been released.
It was also announced that Gamera 60th Anniversary tickets will be distributed as a gift to attendees of two events: the Dolby Cinema revival screening of the Heisei Gamera trilogy, which begins on November 21st, and the Showa Gamera Film Festival, which will be held on December 5th. There will be a lineup of four types: one for the Showa Gamera Film Festival and three for the Heisei Gamera trilogy.
As part of the 60th anniversary project, the sale of original goods and the release of a new LINE stamp, "Heisei Gamera 2," were also announced.
Gamera is a monster that appears in the special effects film "Gamera the Giant Monster," released by Daiei in 1965, and is modeled after a turtle. He is a child who protects people from danger to the Earth, a champion of justice, and flies in a circular saucer shape. Since "Gamera the Giant Monster," a total of eight films have been produced as the "Showa Gamera" series, including "Space Monster Gamera." Other series include the "Heisei Gamera" series and "Little Braves: Gamera." In 2023, the anime "GAMERA -Rebirth-" began streaming on Netflix. The series was also broadcast on NHK General TV.
