It has been revealed that TV Asahi has organized a new drama slot, "Dora Dora Daisakusen" (Saturday midnight 12:30). It will broadcast challenging works by young directors, and the first installment, "30 Minutes Until the Live Broadcast," which will start on Rena Takeda 22nd, will be a saga of four protagonists, each shot in a single take, with a unique style.
"30 Minutes to Live" is set in a broadcasting station and depicts the various incidents and human relationships that occur before the late-night music program "Talking Music" goes live. Each episode tells a story from the perspective of four main characters: the program's AD, the manager of a female idol group, the actor inside the mascot, and an enka singer.
Takeda plays Nakajima Miyu, the protagonist of the first episode, who is an assistant director for "Talking Music." She spends her days being pushed around by the director, the cast, and their managers. Her dream was to work in television, but she is reaching her limits.
The protagonist of episode 2 is played by Mariko Shinoda, who plays Saori Ito, the talented manager of the female idol group "Elements," who feels she has reached her limit with the girls' constant arguing.
The protagonist of the third episode is Akutada Ryuta, an actor who voices "Torataro," the sponsor mascot for "Talking Music." He is a former member of the theater group "Daikon," and is played by Jun Hashimoto. The protagonist of the fourth episode is Toyama Uchitaro, an enka singer played by Ozawa Kazuyoshi. He had a hit song 30 years ago, "Otonari-san," and when he appears on music programs, he demonstrates his kendama skills, but he feels pressured not to fail.
◇ Synopsis of Episode 1
"Talking Music" is a late-night music program. Chief AD Miyu Nakajima (played by Rena Takeda) has just finished the final rehearsal for today's live broadcast. While receiving an unreasonable lecture from the director, the understaffed ADs begin final preparations. "I'm done with nonsense. I'm quitting my job." Feeling the gap between her dream job on TV and reality, she confesses, "My dreams weren't like this."
Meanwhile, Nakajima's teammates unexpectedly leave the scene before him, leaving him alone as the AD. A stunned Nakajima is attacked by various accidents...!?
Ito Saori (Shinoda Mariko), the manager of the popular idol group Elements, makes an unreasonable request to change the order of their performances, and Akutada Ryuta (Jun Hashimoto), the man behind the sponsor's mascot, reports that he has lost something that must not be lost. Furthermore, it seems that the veteran enka singer Toyama Uchitaro (Ozawa Kazuyoshi) has disappeared.
With 30 minutes left until the live broadcast, will Nakajima be able to solve all the problems and get the show off to a smooth start? And what will be Nakajima's final outcome?
