It has been announced that the mystery novel "You've Been Murdered Again, Detective-sama" (KADOKAWA), written by Vocaloid producer and novelist Tenioha and illustrated by Riichi, will be adapted into a TV anime and broadcast on TBS from April 2026. The story is an unconventional mystery that follows high school detective Oizuki Sakuya, who has a special condition that allows him to come back to life even after being killed, as he uses this condition to tackle various difficult cases. The main cast has also been announced, with Yasuda Rikuya playing the protagonist Oizuki Sakuya and Shion Wakayama playing Sakuya's assistant, Lilitha.
The anime will be directed by Takashi Naotani, who has worked on "Marriage Ring Story" and "A Romantic Comedy Where My Childhood Friend Won't Lose," with Mio Inoue in charge of series composition and Akiko Kumada in charge of character design. Kuniaki Nemoto will serve as art director and Yayoshi Yamamoto as director of photography. It will be produced by Liden Films.
Yasuda, who plays Oizuki Sakuya, a high school detective whose father is a legendary detective, commented, "Even after being killed, he comes back to life and solves the case. I will do my best to fully convey the charm of Sakuya, who tackles cases in a down-to-earth manner while carrying with him the pain that comes with his unfair abilities. Don't miss their exploits until the very end!!"
Wakayama, who plays Lilithea, said, "The Lilithea I play is a refined, sweet, and cute girl who is the epitome of all the love in the world. She may look calm and collected, but she blushes when she's embarrassed, or she may talk to you like a friend, but suddenly make a cold remark...Lilithea has so many different sides to her, and I will play her with lots of love!"
A teaser video has been released on YouTube. The video begins with the shocking scene in which the protagonist, Oizuki Sakuya, the son of a legendary detective, is murdered by someone in the middle of an investigation. Every time he returns to life, Lilithea greets him with a gentle hug on her lap, saying, "You were asleep. Please come back. You've been killed again, Detective."
