It has been announced that voice actors Kikuko Inoue, Sayumi Suzushiro , and Mai Kanazawa will appear in the all-new film version of the anime Assassination Classroom Assassination Classroom , based on the popular manga by Yusei Matsui . They will play characters appearing for the first time in the film, with Inoue playing Azusa, Suzushiro playing Kaho Tsuchiya, and Kanazawa playing Kokona Tagawa. It has also been announced that Mai Fuchigami, who played Nagisa Shiota in the TV series, will play Hotaru, who is the spitting image of Nagisa.
Inoue commented, "I am very happy to be able to take part in the world of ' Assassination Classroom' which has been enjoyed by so many people for so many years! Azusa has lost her eyesight, but she runs an izakaya and spends warm days with her daughter Hotaru. But one day, the worst thing happens to the two of them! Their peaceful daily lives take a sudden turn and all sorts of events unfold... Help me! Korosensei!! I was very excited to play the role. I hope you will enjoy it at the theater. Thank you very much!"
Suzuyo said, "I watched Assassination Classroom when I was a teenager, before I became a voice actress, and now I'm able to be involved in it...I'm overwhelmed with emotion. I was excited when I read the script, and I remember laughing when I saw that the character has an incredible inner side, contrary to her cute appearance. There were scenes where I let loose and acted in a crazy way, and it was an unforgettable, fun recording session. Kaho packs quite a punch from the moment she appears, but what will happen next...? Please look forward to it!!"
Kanazawa said, "I am very honored to be playing this incredible character created by Yusei Matsui, a writer I have loved since I was in elementary school. I will never forget the shock I felt when I saw the words ' Assassination Classroom' in an email from my agency. During the dubbing, the sound director told me to 'go wild as much as you like,' so I did. He is a bit self-centered, but he is also an honest boy who can make witty remarks. I look forward to working with him!"
Fuchigami commented, "She's the exact same girl as Nagisa! If it were to be made into an anime, I'd secretly hope that I could play her too (laughs). When I was unexpectedly offered the role, I was very happy. However, she's just similar to Nagisa, so I was a little worried about how to differentiate her voice and speaking style, but... what do you think...?! I hope I was able to come close to everyone's image of her, even just a little."
The new film is being produced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime. It will feature a completely new animated version of episodes that have never been filmed before. It is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2026.
"Assassination Classroom" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from July 2012 to March 2016. The story revolves around Korosensei, a mysterious creature who evaporated 70% of the moon, becoming the homeroom teacher of Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Middle School, a school full of dropouts, and the students attempting to assassinate him.
The TV anime aired from January to June 2015 and January to June 2016, and the film "Assassination Classroom: 365 Days of Time," a compilation of the TV anime and new original episodes, was released in 2016. The spin-off, "Korosensei Q (Quest)!", was also made into an anime. A live-action film starring Hey! Say! JUMP's Ryosuke Yamada was also released.
As part of the anime's 10th anniversary project, all 47 episodes of the TV anime have been rebroadcast on Fuji TV and other channels since April.
