Kyohei Takahashi of the popular group "Naniwa Danshi" appeared with his co-star Kyohei Takahashi at the premiere screening of WOWOW's "Serial Drama W-30 'Strobe Edge Season 1'" held in Tokyo on November 10th. In reference to the drama being set in high school, he spoke of his own memories from his high school days.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Io Sakisaka, which has sold over 8 million copies (including digital editions) across 10 volumes, and is a full-fledged youth love story divided into two parts: Season 1 and Season 2. It is currently airing on WOWOW Prime every Friday at 11pm, and all six episodes of Season 1 are available to stream on WOWOW On Demand.
Takahashi plays Ichinose Ren, the first love of the heroine Kinoshita Ninako (Fukumoto). When asked about what was popular in high school, he declined to say it was just his personal opinion, but said with a smile, "I used to wear hoodies and the like until the last minute before school, and then take them off right before school started (laughs). I was a student who pushed the boundaries."
He also said, "I was also quite into shuttle runs," to which his co-stars teased him, "Is the shuttle run really popular (lol)?" He then blushed and revealed, "I was pretty good at it, but I didn't want to come in first, so I decided to stop at 100 runs."
Also appearing at the premiere screening were Koki Yamashita, Hinatazaka46's Kosaka Nao and Motoki Nakazawa, Hey! Say! JUMP's Kei Inoo and Chiba Yudai.
