The teaser visual for the second season of " Spice and Wolf MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF," a new TV anime adaptation of the popular light novel " Spice and Wolf and Wolf" by Isuna Hasekura, published by Isuna Hasekura (KADOKAWA), has been released. Lawrence and Holo, who previously traveled by wagon, will board a ship in the second season and travel to new lands. The visual symbolizes the two characters' journey and their new beginning.
The main cast was also announced, with Takeo Takahashi and Hijiri Sanpei serving as general directors, Nagayama Nobuyoshi and Mashima Takahiro serving as directors, and it was revealed that Passione will produce the anime.
"Spice and Wolf" is a light novel that follows the journey of traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence and Holo, an incarnation of a wolf worshipped as the god of fertility. It won the Silver Prize at the 12th Dengeki Novel Prize in February 2006, and celebrated its 15th anniversary in February 2021. A sequel, "Spice and Wolf: Spring Log," and a spin-off series, " Spice and Wolf : New Theory: Wolf and Parchment," have been published, with a total circulation of approximately 5 million copies. It has also been adapted into a TV anime, with the first season airing in 2008 and the second in 2009.
"Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf" is the first new TV anime in about 15 years, with the first season airing from April to September 2024.
