"YamaTalk <Scenario Edition> [Pre-recorded Version]," featuring staff from " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 ," the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime " Space Battleship Yamato Yamato," discussed the behind-the-scenes production of the fourth chapter, "Sasha." This was the first time that a pre-recorded program was screened in theaters, allowing a wider audience to enjoy the talk events previously held. General director Harutoshi Fukui, director Naomichi Yamato, and screenwriter Hideki Oka joined the cast, including anime and special effects expert Ryusuke Hikawa and host Eriko Nakamura, voice actress for Mikage Kiryu. They discussed the fifth chapter, "The Incandescent Galactic War," which will premiere on February 20, 2026.
The appearance of Bemraze and Darya of the Bolar Federation in the preview for Chapter 5 also attracted attention. Fukui revealed, "Darya's eyepatch was the idea of (character designer) Nobuteru Yuki. He once suggested making her a little girl, but that would have made her eyes too prominent, so we went with an adult woman."
It is said that Chapter 5 will also feature the "continuous warp" scene that also appears in the original work, and Fukui hinted, "It doesn't end there. In 3199, there will be another movement added after this."
Unreleased scenes not used in the Chapter 5 trailer were also shown. Scenes that hinted at an all-out battle and scenes showing the Hyuuga and Deusula III side by side were shown, and Fukui commented, "An all-out battle will take place. The one in the middle is a Sharbart-class ruins battleship. It's gold, but in Space Battleship Yamato III the design was green. I think green ones will also appear in Chapter 5." He also added, "The Hyuuga and Deusula III are launched at the same time. It's quite moving."
A scene of Susumu Kodai and Alphonse facing off against each other was also released. Fukui said, "What bothered me about ' Be Forever Yamato' was that Alphonse and Alphonse never met face to face. In '3199', Alphonse has a spare body, so we can depict the structure of the confrontation. What are the two fighting about?", and it looks like the direct confrontation will also be a highlight.
"Yamato 3199" consists of seven chapters, and is now entering the second half. The tagline for the teaser visual for Chapter 5 is "The 'unexpected' begins," and attention is focused on what kind of "unexpected" events await. Oka said of future developments, "The things that have unfolded up until now will intertwine and close in on themselves," while Fukui said, "We're finally letting loose. We'll defy expectations. The next chapter is a show of light and sound. The staff have come this far and are starting to work in sync. Chapter 5 is the first explosion of that."
