◇The following contains spoilers
When Ryuma arrives late to the parent-sponsored event, he hears from Kaoru (Haru) and Mamie (Kawaei) about what happened that day. Kaoru reveals that her mom friend Sayuri (Tanaka Minami)'s husband is Mitsuhashi Foods' CEO Shingo Motohashi (Kasamatsu Masaru), and that he was her former boss. She fumes, saying, "They gave me an award for outstanding employee, but I didn't remember it."
When Makaie said, "Shingo is just that kind of guy," Ryoma chimed in, "Do you know him, Makaie? Maybe he's your ex-boyfriend?" Makaie then confessed that Shingo is Iroha's (Aoi Ikemura) father. Ryoma was at a loss for words, saying, "Is that something you can just say so easily?"
Afterwards, Makie noticed that Shingo was nearby. Ryuma, realizing from Makie's behavior that the man standing nearby was Shingo, said forcefully, "Is that him? I'll be right back," and went over to Shingo by himself. He glared at Shingo with all his might.
When Shingo asked "What's the matter?", Ryoma replied "Nothing in particular" and walked away. On social media, he became a hot topic, with comments such as "I was stunned by the sharpness of the glare he gave him, as if he was completely hostile," "Koji was cool again. "Nothing in particular" was the best," "I love the "Nothing in particular" part so much that I've been repeating it over and over," and "He was just threatening with "Nothing in particular!" He was cool again today."
The preview video for episode 5 shows Ryoma muttering, "Who the hell are you?", which has garnered attention on social media with comments such as, "Next week's preview is awesome! The way he says, 'Who the hell are you?' is so cool," "I was blown away by 'Who the hell are you?' Koji is so cool," and "Ryuma's 'Who the hell are you?' in a deep voice is so good, it's great."
The drama is a serial adaptation of the winning work by Sonomura Hikaru, who won the grand prize at the first TBS NEXT WRITERS CHALLENGE screenplay competition. Hanamura Kaoru, who suddenly quit his job and is struggling to find a new job, meets Hidaka Makie, the company president and single mother, at an interview with the venture company RAINBOWLAB. Makie invites Hanamura to a parent-child interview as a stand-in for her daughter Iroha, who is applying to a prestigious private elementary school.
