The 28th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), in which Akari Takaishi 's (Takaishi Akari) reaction to Nishikori's ( Ryo Yoshizawa) request to become Heaven's (Tommy Bastow Akari Takaishi) maid.
In the 27th episode (broadcast on November 4th), Heaven has had a fight with Heita (played by Katsuhisa Namase) and refuses to leave the inn. Heaven asks Nishikori to help her find a house, and the governor (played by Shiro Sano) tells him to find a maid who can "do both" to take care of Heaven, so Nishikori rushes to help.
Hearing rumors that Heaven is looking for a maid, Nami (Honami Sato), a prostitute, puts herself forward as a candidate, showing off her ability to cook, do laundry, and clean, and treating Heaven to a homemade lunch. Heaven seems to like it, saying, "It's delicious!" However, for some reason, Nishikori later visits the Matsuno household and asks Toki to be "Heaven-sensei's maid."
In episode 28, Toki is confused by Nishikori's request and asks, "Why me?" Nishikori reveals that Heaven wants a daughter of a samurai family to be a maid, and that Nami, the daughter of a peasant, has never been hired as a maid.
Toki refuses, saying "I can't do it either," but Nishikori offers a large fee: "20 yen. Heaven-sensei says he'll give you 20 yen a month." Ume (Nouchi Maru), a maid at Hanada Inn, earns 90 sen a month. 20 yen a month is an unthinkably high amount for a maid, so Toki suspects that she might become a mistress (a Western concubine), asking, "Paying a maid that much... she's not just a maid... that's what you're talking about, right?"
Nishikori didn't deny it, saying, "I don't mind if you think that," but continued, "Excuse me, but... I've heard that your family is poor. Of course, it will be difficult and you will have to be prepared. But if you think about it carefully, I'm sure it's not a bad idea for your family." Toki then became angry and flatly refused the invitation, saying, "Don't make fun of me!"
On social media, people were saying things like, "Of course she'd be angry," "Even if she's poor, she has pride as a daughter of a samurai family," "No matter how much money she's offered, she'd refuse to be a concubine," "Neither her grandfather, father, nor mother would ever sell Toki to a prostitute. Toki is not the type to be blinded by a 20 yen salary!!," and "The reason Nami was wrong was surprisingly because Heaven-sensei said, 'I want a samurai daughter,'" and "Does Heaven really want a partner for the night?" were also posted.
