To celebrate the release of the Jujutsu Kaisen : The Movie Shibuya Incident Special Edition x Culling Game Advance Screening, an anime adaptation of the popular manga by Gege Akutami, a specially decorated "Jujutsu Kaisen Jujutsu Kaisen " will open for two weeks only from Gege Akutami at TOHO Cinemas Shibuya (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). All seats in the theater will have covers featuring illustrations of 12 characters, including Yuji Itadori and Okkotsu Yuta, and the theater's second floor will be decorated with curtains and other themes inspired by the series.
It was also announced that a collaboration project with "TikTok" will be implemented. The "Search Easter Egg" function will be implemented from October 31st to November 1st, and special effects will be displayed when searching for several keywords related to "Jujutsu Kaisen." This is the first time that this function will be implemented for a Japanese work. A posting campaign, "Jujutsu Kaisen the Movie: Shibuya Incident x Culling Game on TikTok," has also started, with profile frames and autographed posters of the cast being given away by lottery. "Jujutsu Kaisen" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from March 2018 to September 2024. The story follows high school student Yuji Itadori, who is thrown into a world of battles over curses after a powerful "cursed object" is unsealed. The comic series has sold over 100 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, while the second season, "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu/ Shibuya Incident," aired from July to December 2023. The third season, "Culling Game Part 1," will air in January 2026. The movie version, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0," a prequel to the first season, was released in December 2021 and was a huge hit, grossing approximately 13.75 billion yen in Japan and approximately 26.5 billion yen worldwide.
