It has been announced that Shunsuke Takeuchi will be appearing as a voice actor in the TV anime "Killua," based on the latest work by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, known for the popular manga "Kuroko's Basketball." Takeuchi will play the role of Juzo Ookami (adult), a 39-year-old "legendary assassin." One day, Juzo Ookami is stung by a mysterious bee and turns into a 13-year-old. While attending junior high school, he faces various incidents and battles against assassins.
Takeuchi commented, "I thought that since he has the mind of an adult and the body of a child, I would have to make deductions, but it seems that's not the case! I'm relieved. I've always been told that I look like an old man despite my appearance, so this is a character I can relate to. All the characters are very expressive, so I'd like to appear every now and then to keep an eye on that tempo! Look forward to Killuao!" A cut of Juzo holding a cigarette in his mouth and pointing a gun with a relaxed expression was also released.
The series is a "youth redo" action comedy that began serialization in April 2023 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). The anime will be directed by Hiro Kaburagi, known for the "Kimi ni Todoke" series and "GREAT PRETENDER," and produced by CUE, led by Rui Kuroki, who produced "Kuroko's Basketball." It is scheduled to air in 2026.
