It has been announced that a new anime, "Kaiju Decode: Aidara's Ring," will be produced as part of the media project "KAIJU DECODE," a joint project between Toei Animation and Tsuburaya Productions. The anime is set in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, and will feature voice actors Aya Yamane as Maru and Karin Takahashi as Coco.
The new anime tells the story of two people from opposite backgrounds: Maru, a boy who lives peacefully in the City, a society free from the constraints of the body, brain, space, and time, and Coco, a girl from the Aidara tribe who lives in the Zone, a dangerous land inhabited by transcendental organisms, as they search for a way to live together.
A key visual featuring Coco and a special video showing the monsters engaged in a fierce battle have been released.
Yamane, who plays Maru, said, "Maru is a straightforward, pure-hearted boy with a strong sense of justice and a kind heart who helps others without hesitation. I hope everyone will pay attention to how he was born and how he changes after meeting the Aidara people! For us today, the story is set in a very distant future. However, the characters' human sides and inner conflicts are well portrayed, and the story progresses at a rapid pace, so I think it's a work that you won't get bored of watching until the very end! I hope that this work reaches many people!"
Takahashi, who plays Coco, commented, "Coco is a monster tamer living in Aidara, and is a smart and curious girl. In Aidara, where people coexist with monsters, Coco works hard to fulfill her mission with the help of the monsters, and I think she is a very strong person. I also find the girlish side she occasionally shows endearing. Maru and Coco, who live in different worlds and cultures, meet, get to know each other, get to know the worlds they live in, and live their lives together. This work made me think about human life. I also thought that there may be some similarities with our world. I really want to see the rest of this story."
"KAIJU DECODE" is a media project with the theme of "The Story of a Monster and a Girl." To date, it has produced the short animation "KAIJU DECODE", the VR animation "KAIJU DECODE -first contact-", and the MR game "KAIJU DECODE -super multiverse MR-".
