The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday, 1pm), which will air from October 20th to 24th, has been announced. On the 20th, actor Yukiko Kashiwagi will appear, on the 21st, actor Yoshie Ichige, on the 22nd, actor Saburo Shinoda, on the 23rd, actor Hayato Ichihara Ichihara, and on the 24th, entertainer Yoshizumi Ishihara.
It has been 40 years since Kashiwagi's husband, Kyu Sakamoto, passed away. Her daughter has started a family, her grandchildren are grown, and now that she has grown away from her children and grandchildren, she spends her days fulfillingly with her beloved dog in a home she remodeled to make it more livable.
Ichige has been an actor for 55 years. He cared for his mother for 13 years, until she passed away at the age of 100. There were times when he reached his limits mentally. He talks about the "attitude to live" that his innocent mother taught him during his days of caring for her.
Shinoda-san has apparently embarked on a new path since his 70s. When he was traveling and performing, he used to send his laundry to his wife in Tokyo, but now he does his own laundry at a coin laundry. He also shares memories of Naraoka Tomoko, with whom he often performed.
Ichihara practiced shamisen to prepare for the role, and it was also an opportunity to learn about Japanese culture. Her hobby is photography, and she often travels around Japan and overseas. Influenced by her mother, she has been good at cooking since she was a child.
Ishihara's father was Shintaro Ishihara, a writer and former governor of Tokyo who passed away three years ago. When he mentioned that a book co-authored by the four brothers was on sale, his older brother and two younger brothers appeared in the studio. Everyone burst out laughing at the sight of the four of them sitting crammed together on the sofa, when the music signaling the end of the show started playing.
