A stage greeting to celebrate the release of the animated film " Chainsaw Man , " based on Tatsuki Fujimoto 's popular manga, was held at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) on September 20th. To commemorate the release of the film, an illustration of Reze drawn by the original author Fujimoto was released, and Kikunosuke Toya, who plays Denji, excitedly exclaimed, "She's wearing her uniform!", while Reina Ueda, who plays Reze, excitedly exclaimed, "Is Reze without blushing?" Ueda smiled and said, "Thank you so much!"
The film was released in 421 theaters nationwide on September 19th, and got off to a good start, grossing approximately 420 million yen on the first day and attracting over 272,000 viewers. Fujimoto commented, "After seeing it, I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about Reze! It was amazing! Beam-kun also worked twice as hard as he did in the manga, so I should have treated him more carefully! Thank you to everyone who made the movie! Everyone involved! Everyone who watched it! Thank you!"
Also appearing on stage to greet the audience were Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Makima, Shogo Sakata, who plays Hayakawa Aki, Yuya Uchida, who plays the Violent Demon, Maaya Uchida, who plays the Angel Devil, and Karin Takahashi, who plays Higashiyama Kobeni.
The "Reze" arc, which also appeared at the end of the TV anime series that aired from October to December 2022, tells the story of Reze and the main character, Denji, who became a hot topic. While Denji is excited about a date with his crush, Makima, he takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a young girl who works at a cafe. The episode will be directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who served as the action director for the TV anime, and produced by MAPPA.
"Chainsaw Man" is a dark hero action story that follows Denji, a boy possessed by a demon, as he works as a devil hunter. Part 1 was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from December 2018 to December 2020. Part 2 has been serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +" since July 2022. The total number of copies of the comics published has exceeded 30 million.
