Space Battleship Yamato 50th Anniversary JNTHED Tribute Illustration Released

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the TV broadcast of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," a tribute illustration by JNTHED, who worked on the mechanical designs of "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" and other works, has been released. From September 19th, the illustration and a diorama created as part of a project by "Monthly Hobby Japan" (Hobby Japan) will be exhibited at the entrance of Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo).

At MOVIX Hiroshima Station (Minami-ku, Hiroshima City), in addition to the 1/100 scale model of Space Battleship Yamato currently on display, from September 19th they will also be exhibiting original drawings from the fourth chapter, "Sasha, the Light Blue Maiden," of the latest installment in the remake series, "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199."

"Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a re-imagining of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III," with a new interpretation added. Harutoshi Fukui will serve as general director, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Naomichi Yamato will serve as director. There will be a total of seven chapters, with the fourth chapter set to premiere on October 10th.
