It has been announced that Kana Hanazawa will be appearing as a voice actress in the TV anime " Tune In to the Midnight Heart, " based on the romantic comedy manga by Masakuni Igarashi currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha). Hanazawa will play Lemon Ando, the advisor of the broadcasting club at Fuurin High School, where the heroine Rikka Inohana, who has a dream related to her voice, and her classmates attend.
Hanazawa commented, "I will be voicing Lemon-chan, the teacher who advises the broadcasting club. She is a languid and carefree adult woman, and I really like her!" Having previously appeared in the TV anime adaptation of author Igarashi's manga "Senryu Girl," she expressed her delight, saying, "I'm happy to be involved in Igarashi's work again. I'm looking forward to recording!!"
Character designs for the heroines Inohana Rikka, Himegawa Nene, Kirino Iko, Ugetsu Shinobu, and Ando Lemon have also been released.
" Tune In to the Midnight Heart" is a manga by Igarashi, who is also known for "Senryu Girl," which was adapted into a TV anime, and began serialization in the magazine in September 2023. Yamabuki Arisu, a second-year high school student, is searching for a radio broadcaster named Apollo, whose face and real name she does not know, and finds a clue in the broadcasting club of the high school she is attending. There she finds four beautiful girls who dream of "working in a job related to voice"... This is a romantic comedy that begins with "voice."
The anime will be directed by Masayuki Takahashi and produced by Gekko. Rikuya Yasuda will play the protagonist, Arisu Yamabuki, and the voice actors for the main heroines will be Momoko Seto as Rikka Inohana, Rumi Okubo as Nene Himegawa, Sayumi Suzushiro as Iko Kirino, and Miku Ito as Shinobu Ugetsu. It is scheduled to air in 2026.
