TV Asahi has announced that the drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), starring actor Takumi Saito, has wrapped up filming. Crank-up photos and comments from the main cast, including Saito, who plays the "pseudo-parent-child" buddy, and child actor Yuno Nagao, have been released.
Saito-san finished filming an important scene that leads to the "biggest mystery" of the story. When Yuzuno-chan, who was supposed to be the "bouquet presenter" and was told she couldn't come to the set that day, showed up, he looked surprised and said, "I heard you couldn't come today!?" Yuzuno-chan smiled and said, "That was a lie (lol)!", delighted at the success of the surprise.
Saito said with a hint of regret, "The atmosphere on set was somehow different from previous wrap-ups, and it felt very comfortable...I still can't quite come to terms with the fact that it's over."
"It was a production that made me feel glad that I had continued as an actor, and these four months made me truly feel that if there is a set like this, I can continue to have dreams and hopes for this job. I was truly happy to have come across this set," he said.
Yuno, whose acting skills have once again become a hot topic in this film, said in a firm tone, "Directors Fukagawa (Eihiro) and Katayama (Osamu) taught me a lot, and I feel like I've learned a lot and grown as a person. I'll be sad that I won't be able to see you all from tomorrow, but I'll do my best so that we can meet again."
Tatsuya Fukazawa of Snow Man, who played the lawyer Yamazaki Tadashi, who becomes an ally towards the end of the story, wrapped up filming with the courtroom scene in the final episode. He was deeply moved when he received a purple bouquet in the member's color, and said with a smile full of satisfaction, "I learn a lot from my co-stars every day, and I'm happy to be working with them. I could feel the staff's desire to "make a good production," and it was very easy for us to work as actors, and I thought it was a great set. I'll do my best to grow up again so I can work with you all again!! Please continue to support Tatsuya Fukazawa and Snow Man!!"
Yosuke Eguchi, who played the detective Sunouchi Tsukasa, finished filming a scene with Saito. "It was really hot filming on location in the summer. I was constantly following the production once filming began! I've been able to get this far thanks to everyone's support. Thank you very much!" he said, before shaking hands firmly with Saito.
Yuki Uchida, who played medical doctor Mizuhara Yukiko, also wrapped up filming at the same time as Saito. "Thank you so much for working hard with me during the tough summer filming. One day, after Yuzuno had finished a difficult line, I asked her, 'Are you going to go eat something delicious as a reward?' and she replied, 'I'm going to practice tomorrow.' (Her attitude) made me realize once again that the basic things are important: to never forget my original intentions, not to become complacent, to never forget gratitude, and to work hard at what I can do, little by little," she said, sharing some behind-the-scenes stories from the filming.
The final episode (episode 9) will be broadcast on September 2nd.
