It has been announced that the drama series "Futari Escape" (TV Osaka, Saturday midnight 12:55am), co-starring Iwamoto Renka and Tomiri Nao from the idol group "Nogizaka46", will begin airing late on October 4th. The live-action drama is based on the manga of the same name by Taguchi Koichi (Ichijinsha), and is an escapist comedy about an unemployed senior (Iwamoto) whose only redeeming feature is her cuteness, and a junior manga artist (Tomiri) who is pressed for deadlines. This will be Tomiri's first appearance and first lead role in a terrestrial TV drama.
In this modern age where timeliness and cost-effectiveness are all the rage, an unemployed senior who loves games and a junior manga artist who is busy writing manuscripts every day, without thinking about the consequences of time or money, escape reality by ``sealing'' their smartphones in outrageous ways, returning to their childhood in the park, and buying luxurious ingredients with their royalties.
Iwamoto commented, "I will be starring alongside fellow member Nao Tomi. There are many similarities between me and the character of "Senpai," so I am very happy to be able to play such a character. No matter what part you look at, this work is warm and will make you chuckle, but there are also some scenes that will make you think a little, so I think anyone can enjoy watching it. Keep an eye out for the combination of Nao and me! I hope that we can bring a little bit of healing to those who watch it."
Looking back on the filming, Tomisato said, "I was able to enjoy filming with a lot of help from Renka, who is always kind and reliable. The director and staff were also watching over us warmly, and it was a wonderful time filled with smiles on set!" She also appealed, "I'm sure that this is a production that will make everyone who watches it feel warm and happy. Please be sure to check it out!!"
The soundtrack for this work will be handled by the original author, Taguchi, who is also known as a musician, and will add color to the world of the drama. Taguchi commented, "I was nervous as this is the first time a work has been adapted into a drama, but I can feel the love and dedication of everyone involved, so now I'm excited. Please take a look at the adorable lives of the senior and junior characters played by Iwamoto Renka and Tomiri Nao! Be sure to listen to the soundtrack too!"
It will also be broadcast on TV Aichi every Saturday at 2:15 a.m. After it airs on TV Osaka, it will be exclusively streamed on "Lemino Premium."
