The 110th episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on August 29th. The episode featured the workplace of the genius manga artist Teshima Osamu (played by Gordon Maeda), and viewers were captivated by the manuscripts of his masterpieces that appeared in the scene.
In episode 110, Nobu (Imada) and Taka (Takumi Kitamura) move into a new house and start living with Hatako (Noriko Eguchi). Meanwhile, Hatako answers a phone call for Taka and accepts a request to write a radio drama script by the next morning. Taka rearranges a short story he had previously written, "The Gentle Lion," and changes the ending to complete it as a 30-minute radio drama.
"The Kind Lion" is a story about the bond between a lion named Buruburu who has lost his mother and a dog named Mukumuku who acts as his mother. The next day, when the radio drama was broadcast, Teshima was listening to the story at work.
In this scene, Teshima is seen leaning face down on a desk, on which is a manuscript with the word "Dororo" written on it. "Dororo" is a classic manga written by Osamu Tezuka , the model for Teshima, and serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) and other magazines in the 1960s, with a live-action film released in 2007. Set in the Warring States period, it depicts the journey and battles of Hyakkimaru and the boy Dororo, who are trying to get their body back. In the live-action film, Satoshi Tsumabuki , who plays Yagi in " Anpan ", plays Hyakkimaru and stars in the film.
Many viewers responded to the Dororo manuscript, with comments on social media such as "I got so excited when Tezuka-sensei (Teshima-sensei in the drama) drew Dororo," "It was awesome to see the Dororo manuscript on Teshima Osamu's desk," "The title of Dororo is inserted when he is crying over The Kind Lion. It's so exciting when a real thing comes out and it's not just a fictional work," "The fact that Osamu Tezuka sensei drew Dororo means it must have been around the time when Shigeru Mizuki's GeGeGe no Kitaro was a huge hit," and "Yagi-san was the lead in the live-action movie."
