The popular Shinkalion (Takara Tomy) toy series, in which a Shinkansen transforms into a robot, will release a new product, the Shinkalion CW Shinkalion L0 Improved Test Vehicle, on October 2nd. The new Shinkalion is modeled after the improved L0 series Superconducting Maglev test vehicle, which began test runs in August 2020. It will cost 9,900 yen.
The train is a three-car set, with the front and rear cars each transforming into a Shinkalion, and when the three cars, including the middle car, are combined, they transform into the large robot Great L0. It can also be combined with other Shinkalions to form a four-car set, and when combined with the "Shinkalion CW Shinkalion 0," modeled after the original 0-series Shinkansen, it creates the 00 Shinkalion (Infinity Shinkalion), a combination of Shinkansen from the future and past. The Linear Railgun, a weapon modeled after the coils of a superconducting linear train, can be separated and equipped in guideway mode, combining with either side.
Character visuals were also released, and a new short anime was released on Shinkalion's official YouTube channel, "Shinkalion TV," and elsewhere.
