It has been announced that the "Showa 100th Anniversary Symphonic Song Festival," which was held on June 21st at Sumida Triphony Hall (Sumida-ku, Tokyo), will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand from noon on September 23rd.
At the festival, Seiya from the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, known as an avid fan of Showa era pop music, served as the MC, dressed as a bartender. Guests were welcomed to the bar counter on the stage and chatted. The guests then performed Showa era pop music (original and cover songs) accompanied by an orchestra.
Guest appearances included legends Shigeru Matsuzaki and Kohei Otomo, as well as former members of Hikaru Genji Sato Hiroyuki and Yamamoto Junichi, Tamai Shiori from Momoiro Clover Z, and AKB48's Omori Maho, Kuranoo Narumi, and Taguchi Aika. It was a night where people of all generations were able to rediscover the charm of "Showa music."
